Editorial Meh
The Long Hunt shows strong atmospheric AI artwork that captures mood and place convincingly—characters feel embedded in the world rather than posed. Gameplay integrates clicking on images and the map, which players appreciate over plain text links. However, the early build is rough around the edges: dialogue has grammatical errors ("Goblins are simple creatures" breaks mid-sentence), some character art becomes inconsistently proportioned later on, and a few technical details are off (anatomy glitches in screenshots). More significantly, the game's identity is confused—it's listed with a female protagonist but players report a male lead, and there's speculation it may be a reskinned earlier project ("The Wrong Potion"). The story itself is described as dull and derivative of Goblin's Pet, lacking the fast pacing and player agency that makes similar games engaging. A skip-dialogue function is requested. Community feedback is divided: some enjoy the premise and art enough to try it; others found it too slow to continue. Current version is 0.0.1, so foundation exists, but execution needs work.
