Salvation in Nightmare is an early-stage adult VN with demon-romance themes and a mix of sandbox and plot mechanics. Players appreciate the character writing and animation quality in individual scenes—shower and gym encounters are singled out as well-done—and the dev's willingness to incorporate community feedback on mechanics. The game currently suffers from real friction: thin content volume (reviewers report roughly an hour of play), grinding that feels disconnected from narrative payoff, and a frustrating bug loop where save corruption can lock players into unwinnable money states. A recent major plot decision (the death of a favored character) caused vocal backlash; the dev's firm stance that plot direction won't change based on polls has rubbed some the wrong way, though others respect artistic vision. Gameplay is further hampered by the lack of sound and sandbox mechanics that many find tedious rather than engaging. If you enjoy Koikatsu-style character work and can tolerate early-access roughness, there's promise here—but the build needs stability fixes and more substantive content before a clear recommendation.
