Editorial Has potential
Reconnected is a sci-fi horror visual novel that has earned genuine enthusiasm from its community for strong character writing, atmospheric storytelling, and unexpected emotional depth. Players praise the protagonist Eco as a well-realized character with his own agency rather than a blank slate, the chemistry and banter with romance interest Kai, and the game's willingness to blend mystery, betrayal, and moral weight into its narrative. The art, music, and 4th-wall-breaking moments land effectively for those invested in the story. However, the current build feels mid-development: player feedback reveals branching-route mechanics that are poorly signposted (a top/bottom choice that remains greyed out unless very specific earlier dialogue choices are made, causing confusion and frustration), some reports of sprite/background inconsistencies and Android version bugs, and occasional pacing issues where narration can feel repetitive or overly long. The secret ending is intentionally gated and requires a 1-in-128 choice combination to unlock. Community consensus is strong that the creative vision is worth following, but the execution still needs polish—readers should expect updates and some rough edges in the current version.
