Editorial Worth it

Origin Story is a polished, well-crafted adult visual novel that delivers strong writing, appealing character work, and a confident blend of humor and drama. The renders are detailed, the dialogue balances levity with genuine emotional beats, and players consistently praise the dev's clear communication and steady release schedule. The game is unabashedly a harem with significant sexual content and a "sharing" mechanic involving some love interests—this is core to the design, not a bug, and the dev has been transparent about it. Some players find the female characters' willingness to sleep with the MC and each other unrealistic or wish for deeper romantic exclusivity routes; others embrace the fantasy. The common complaint about pacing—that story momentum slows—reflects the nature of an origin story rather than a flaw. A few technical issues (controller support, occasional crashes on some systems, gray-screen launch problems for isolated players) are minor against the overall stability. For its audience, this is a genuine highlight.

Description

Origin Story is a post-apocalyptic adult visual novel set twenty years after the 'Superflu' virus granted superpowers to much of humanity. You play as a nineteen-year-old college student who, despite his peers' enhanced abilities, has yet to manifest any powers of his own—making him a social outcast. Raised by family friends Parker and Riley after his parents' deaths, he lives a seemingly normal life until a violent attack brings him to the attention of The Sisterhood, a government-backed team of superheroines. As his own mysterious ability begins to manifest, the MC must navigate college life, forbidden relationships, and a dangerous secret that could determine whether he becomes a hero or a villain. The game is a point-and-click visual novel with choice-driven narrative branches, relationship management with multiple love interests, and explicit adult content including scenes of varying intensity. Early chapters are more linear to serve the plot, but significant player choices expand later in the story. The experience blends humor, graphic violence, and sexual content as the protagonist uncovers the truth behind his circumstances.
