Editorial Worth it
My Best Deal is a character-driven visual novel with excellent renders and animation that has earned genuine fan loyalty—one patron compared it to Katawa Shoujo. The intimacy scenes are the core strength: the game fully commits to its mind-control premise and gives players meaningful agency over outcomes in ways most VNs shy away from. Writing and dialogue have noticeably improved across updates, and the cast (especially the mother and one sister) resonates with players. However, the game has real creative friction: the MC is often indecisive and whiny, which frustrates players who find him cowardly; femdom and lesbian content are unavoidable early on, which some find immersion-breaking; character depth is inconsistent, with several feeling one-dimensional; and most choice branches collapse into the same outcome, making the illusion of agency hollow. The pacing is slow, animations can feel repetitive, and the overarching deity plot feels undercooked. Community verdict is divided—some call it one of the best AVNs they've played; others find it frustrating precisely because its strong bones (art, animation, character moments) clash with weak character writing and illusory choice design.
