FOXXX is a sci-fi text-based adventure set in a universe millennia after a catastrophic planet-buster weapon was fired. You play as a recently-banished space cadet tasked with uncovering secrets of an ancient war while evading a mysterious long-lost foe. When you suffer bad endings, a cloning tank lets you respawn in a new body and continue, allowing you to revisit past failures and discover alternate outcomes. The game is a narrative sandbox featuring a male furry protagonist and a crew of recruitable companions. Gameplay involves exploring multiple planets, engaging in branching dialogue and combat encounters, developing relationships with crew members, and managing your character's mutations that accumulate from repeated bad endings. Each planet has its own questline, NPCs, and sexual/romantic content that varies based on your choices and body modifications. Core mechanics include a mutation system where physical changes persist across respawns (affecting how scenes play out), a relationship system with crew members, resource management (credits), and increasingly complex combat encounters on 'The Scar'—a dangerous anomaly zone with tactical turn-based fights.
