Editorial Has potential
Canticle is a narrative-driven adult game with strong character writing and compelling moral choices that keep players invested—the "bad guys" generate genuine conflict even for those playing good routes, and the world-building around its religious setting is genuinely compelling. However, the game is decidedly mid-development: missing CGs across multiple routes, puzzle logic errors (notably a broken Arcanometry minigame that the community has confirmed is mathematically unsolvable as designed), Android installation failures, and continuity errors between chapters all point to a build that needs polish. The recent "ambitious update" adds the Inquisition arc but leaves much unfinished; puzzle sequences and navigation in the tunnels frustrate players. For those willing to overlook rough edges and come back when it's complete, the writing and character depth justify the wait—but current players should expect to hit dead ends.
