Editorial Has potential
Tides of Succession appears to have been a genuinely promising AVN — reviewers consistently describe it as one of the standout games of its period, praising its art, renders, and overall quality, with many calling it among the best they had seen from a new developer. The creative work clearly resonated: multiple players express real regret that it was abandoned, and the strongest criticism of the game itself is simply that there is not more of it. Unfortunately, almost every review is consumed not with the game's content but with the developer's conduct: abandoning ToS mid-development citing insufficient income, launching a follow-up set in the same universe, then abandoning that too before deleting Patreon, Discord, and Steam accounts. Community sentiment is overwhelmingly negative toward the developer's decision-making, and the game is effectively dead with no meaningful update expected. As a creative work the potential was real; as something you can actually play and follow, there is next to nothing here.
