Funbag Fantasy is a 2009 eroge classic that has aged remarkably well. The core appeal is immediate—it's a rags-to-riches fantasy where a bottom-ranked knight unexpectedly conquers a succubus and ascends to power—but the real strength is that it doesn't skimp on narrative. The story weaves political intrigue, humor, and character development into a surprisingly coherent whole, with five distinct endings that feel meaningfully different. The protagonist is genuinely likable: flawed, self-aware, and appropriately heroic when it counts. All the female characters (succubus, wife, knight, princess, etc.) have distinct personalities and relationship arcs; they exist as more than fanservice props.
