Editorial Has potential
The Fall of Themyscira puts players in the role of a corruptor working through a roster of DC superheroines and Amazons — Wonder Woman figures, Korra, Katara, and others — staging a slow-burn corruption sandbox with a full-moon quest structure and multiple character routes. The fantasy clearly resonates with its target audience; reviewers single out specific characters and scenes with genuine enthusiasm, and the breadth of the cast is a consistent selling point. One reviewer's complaint that the game is derivative of another ("the AI version of gunsmokes attempt at the island… significantly worse") is a minority view and a content-fit comparison rather than a consensus verdict. The quest design, however, draws real criticism: hints are absent or blank, progression triggers are opaque, and several players have gotten stuck on the same steps — the statue quest, Alexa's routes, and the forest follow-up all generate confusion. That is a design issue worth flagging, though not fatal to the experience for patient players. On the technical side, the picture is mixed. Version 0.3 launched with at least two reported blocking bugs — a broken main-menu button and an update that failed to trigger at all — but a subsequent patch appears to have addressed the Android port and some instability. A handful of players report severe performance problems (crashes, freezing) uncommon for a Ren'Py title, though this seems hardware-specific rather than universal. Updates have been slow (five-to-seven-month gaps mentioned), which frustrates the community, though the developer appears active. Overall, the build sits somewhere between rough and polished depending on version.
