Tentacle Cave Blackout is a side-scrolling H-platformer built in Unreal Engine, pitting a female protagonist against a cave full of slimes, worms, and tentacle creatures. Players consistently praise the puzzle design and the art style, and fans of the tentacle-monster genre will find enough to enjoy — though be aware the content mix leans heavily on tentacles and includes at least one vore encounter, which divided opinions. The melee combat drew sustained criticism across multiple build versions: awkward swing animations, an unforgiving stamina system, and RNG-heavy loot crates make the action feel punishing rather than engaging, and these design complaints persisted even as bugs were fixed. On the technical side, the game launched with notable rough edges — a broken crouch mechanic, save-system failures, and collision glitches — most of which were addressed over successive updates. The final 1.0 release is meaningfully more stable, but GPU optimization remains a sore spot (even mid-range cards report high load on the menu screen), and a handful of players still hit soft-locks. Community chatter is dominated by piracy links and feature requests rather than genuine play impressions of the completed build, so take the overall picture with some caution.
