Editorial Meh
Mazex is an ambitious free-roam adult action-RPG with an open world, combat, and intimate scenes—a rare combination in the genre. Players praise its concept, character design, and music, and community members clearly see potential. However, the game is still in early alpha and riddled with bugs that significantly hamper enjoyment: invisible walls blocking progression, broken waypoints, stamina regeneration glitches, camera issues, input bugs (especially with the bow and sword-draw), save-file clipping, and occasional crashes. The world is large but feels empty, quests are repetitive fetch-and-walk tasks, balancing is poor (early combat is punishingly hard), and the UI is confusing with unexplained systems. The developer is responsive and actively pushing updates, but the current build requires workarounds (cheats) to progress and is a frustrating experience for most new players. Optimization also struggles on high-end GPUs. Worth watching if you enjoy early-access roguelike grinding, but the rough state will deter most.
