Strange App presents an intriguing social-corruption concept—using a chat app to gradually influence a group of characters toward increasingly explicit behavior—with thoughtful writing that grounds each character's personality in how they respond to content. However, the game suffers from repetitive, RNG-heavy gameplay that wears thin fast: most of your time is spent clicking for random posts and refreshing until the right character appears, rather than making meaningful choices. The lack of an end-game state (the game continues indefinitely even after maxing all characters) compounds the sense of spinning wheels. Community feedback is divided between those drawn to the character work and those frustrated by the thin mechanical layer supporting it; a few also note immersion breaks when synced and unsynced characters mix freely in group chats. The build is stable but the design needs restructuring—less random post generation, more player agency, and a clear stopping point—to justify replaying.
