Shape of You: Crossing

You are Manuel González, a 25-year-old software developer whose H-1B visa has expired, leaving you 28 days before deportation to Mexico. A friend introduces you to Shape of You Inc., a regulated company that performs consciousness transfer, placing your mind into women's bodies in exchange for substantial pay. Over the course of the game, you inhabit approximately 75 different women, performing the intimate emotional labor they cannot face themselves: medical appointments, custody handoffs with abusive partners, breakups, and other deeply personal moments. Shape of You: Crossing is an open-world interactive fiction game built in Twine/SugarCube that explores consciousness transfer, embodiment, identity, and the transformative power of understanding another person from the inside. Each night presents a choice about who you will go home as, as the line between your original self and the identities you assume grows increasingly blurred.
