Scissor Kick is a yuri (lesbian) sports visual novel following Morrigan Twine, an aggressively self-assured football player on a prestigious college team whose charmed life gets complicated after an injury. The game is a spin-off set in the same universe as the developer's other title, Friendship Club. Early adopters are enthusiastic about the tone, animation quality, and the sheer novelty of the premise — female football players, Blue Lock-style stakes, sharp humor. The main character herself divides opinion sharply: some find her over-the-top narcissism entertaining and full of dramatic potential, while others find her genuinely hard to stomach and are hoping the writing holds her accountable rather than glorifying her flaws. The story's pacing draws the most consistent criticism — reviewers note that after a couple of releases it still meanders through fourth-wall breaks and empty banter without building real stakes or payoff. Plans for sub/dom and BDSM content have been confirmed by the developer but are not yet present. On the build side, this is an active side project that has seen long gaps between updates — at one point going eight months without a release — before recently returning. Content is sparse by nature of it being early-stage, and Spanish localization has been repeatedly requested but not yet added. For a niche audience that clicks with the humor and the yuri football concept, there is genuine promise here; for everyone else, it may be worth waiting for the story to find its footing.
