Editorial Meh
Rending Sky is a hand-drawn beat-em-up with striking visual design and unapologetic adult content — its strongest asset. The art direction consistently impresses, and the game delivers on the spectacle players seek. However, the creative execution falters where it matters most: combat design, boss encounters, and narrative coherence are widely criticized as confusing, poorly balanced, and barely explained. Many reviewers praise the visuals enough to recommend it on sale, but acknowledge the game itself feels half-baked. The build is in worse shape: widespread reports of progression-blocking bugs (enemies vanishing, bosses freezing between phases, black screens), unresponsive controls, frame-pacing stutters, and a developer who appears to have abandoned post-launch support. What polish exists is visual only. Community opinion is divided but clarifying: those who overlook the technical mess and weak gameplay find the art and subject matter worth the discount price; those expecting a functional action game report wasted money. The game was released from early access in this broken state and has not been repaired.
