Editorial Meh
Regressor is an abandoned sandbox-VN hybrid that struggles with fundamental design choices. Most players agree the game lacks meaningful consequence: choices about whether to pursue scenes or be "nice" versus "bad" produce minimal variation, with reviewers reporting that key ending scenes (like the demoness reveal) play out regardless of player decisions. The sandbox structure frustrates rather than empowers—events unlock out of narrative order, progression feels arbitrary, and the investment system becomes broken mid-game. The pregnancy tag is contentious; while some scenes exist, they appear so late and underdeveloped that many players never encountered them or felt they were an afterthought rather than a theme. Combat and money systems trivialize easily (billion-unit snowballing), and the male protagonist's near-invincibility reads to some as an unbalanced power fantasy. The developer has abandoned this project in favor of 2D work, and with no meaningful updates in sight, what remains is a half-realized concept—a visual novel with sandbox trappings but none of the branching depth sandbox players expect.
