Editorial Has potential
Evos Rising is a character-driven VN that players consistently praise for its writing, character chemistry, and protagonist design. The cast feels genuine and well-developed, and the MC avoids the "wimpy harem lead" trope many find exhausting. However, the current build carries notable technical friction: Linux users hit rendering errors (garbled text on launch), the mod version mismatches the live build (0.2 vs 0.2a), and some stat-check logic appears inverted. UI polish also lags—music volume is inconsistent across tracks, and the stats page uses near-unreadable dark-blue text on black. Gameplay design issues include rushed scene pacing (notably Olivia's introduction), character visual changes that frustrate long-term players, and some plotting inconsistencies (MC seeming to forget Siri's vigilante action). Content-wise, expect distance-based intimate scenes with at least one LI; players who dislike that dynamic should know it's a substantial part of her route. For its audience—those who value strong writing and character work—Evos Rising lands well; but technical and design polish need attention before the next update.
