Editorial Meh
Nine Lives of Yoki is a charming pixel platformer with sexual content, but it is fundamentally held back by poor controls that frustrate players across the board. Wall-jumps feel imprecise, keyboard input is sluggish, and basic platforming that should be straightforward becomes a wall of tedium; even on easy mode, players report struggling with elementary level design. The game has only one island to explore and a very limited roster of enemies, with H-content that is sparse and inconsistent (one animation tied to defeating a specific enemy, occasionally bugged). The build is incomplete — no save system beyond settings, no defeat animations, no controller support — and community feedback suggests the developer has stalled on both sexual content and meaningful gameplay updates. Those drawn to the cute art style may find moments to enjoy, but the control scheme makes sustained play punishing rather than rewarding.
