New City

Editorial Meh

New City is a dark, story-driven VN positioning itself as part detective thriller, part adult game—not primarily a porn title. The game involves kidnapping, trafficking, drugging, and sexual violence as core plot elements. The MC will cheat on his girlfriend; the developer has committed to that. However, a contentious gap has opened: players expecting NTR (the girlfriend sleeping with others) are frustrated that the dev insists no such content is planned, while those opposed to infidelity are already leaving because the MC's cheating is non-negotiable. Meanwhile, the most recent update ends with the girlfriend kidnapped, drugged, and being sold into sexual slavery—a cliffhanger that has alarmed the anti-NTR crowd, who see it as a backdoor into non-consensual content they explicitly didn't sign up for. Sex scenes themselves are reportedly dull and poorly animated. The game is playable and stable, but the narrative direction has fractured its intended audience: those who want a vanilla relationship drama feel betrayed; fetish players feel misled; and uncertainty about future plot directions (will the girlfriend be rescued, or worse?) is driving away players on both sides.
