Editorial Has potential
Mist and Ruin is a League of Legends–themed roguelike that leans hard into Vampire Survivors gameplay with mind-control / corruption mechanics—a premise that's novel enough in the adult-game space. Players consistently praise the character implementation: each champion plays distinctly (not just reskins), and the writing team's recent manual rewrite of dialogue is appreciated. The early build shows real polish and hooks players into repeat runs. However, the game is clearly mid-development. A severe, game-breaking lag bug (frame updates stalling for 10+ seconds, sometimes affecting the entire system) has hit multiple testers and remains unresolved. UI has experienced reversed layouts on certain locales, and progression can break after specific boss fights, forcing restart. These aren't minor snags—they prevent sustained play. The developer is transparent about the roadmap (60+ champions planned, three-year horizon) and actively responsive to feedback, which is encouraging; but right now, the build is too unstable for a smooth experience.
