Editorial Has potential
Love on the Approach is a straightforward adult visual novel about managing a university volleyball team while pursuing six different female characters. The creative work itself is competent: the premise is familiar (manager romance in a sports club), the characters are archetypal but distinct, and the pacing is short but purposeful—players consistently report satisfaction with the core experience and erotic content. However, execution is hampered by persistent localization issues (character names are English in dialogue but Chinese in choices; machine translation quality is poor throughout) and missing quality-of-life features (no gallery, no achievements, no walkthrough). The AI-generated art divides opinion but many players find it acceptable after post-processing. Most significantly, players are divided on content fit: some feel baited by NTR tagging (only one scene with optional Aki involves the antagonistic coach, and the MC objects), while others were simply browsing for different content. These are preference questions, not design flaws. The game delivers what it promises for its niche—serviceable erotic content with working affection systems and multiple routes—but rough around the edges.
