Editorial Don't bother
Island of Corruption is a short, linear visual novel with a mind-control/hypnosis premise that struggles to deliver on its premise or mechanics. The narrative is one-dimensional—pick "corrupt" to progress or face an abrupt game-over—and the sex scenes are criticized as repetitive, animation-light, and lacking depth or buildup. Story beats feel hollow (corrupt a character, then accuse them), spelling and grammar are inconsistent, and the choice system feels more like a kinetic novel than a true branching game. The build is playable but rough: bugs including achievement glitches and gallery breaks were patched quickly after community reports, but the UI is messy (oversized text, missing page numbers), and the game feels unfinished despite being marked complete. At €2.99 the price is low, but players report finishing in under an hour and consistently describe the content as shallow and repetitive. Community opinion is divided mostly between "not worth the time" and a small cohort of hypnosis/corruption enthusiasts who find something to like, but even sympathetic readers acknowledge the execution is lazy.
