Editorial Has potential

IRYS presents an ambitious sci-fi world with a strong cyberpunk aesthetic and genuinely striking character design—the female cast draws consistent praise for their visual appeal and personality. The narrative shows real craft, layering mystery around the protagonist's passivity through hints of memory manipulation and corporate interference; players who engage with the subtext find a protagonist grappling with trauma and psychological manipulation rather than simple weakness, which rewards close reading. However, the game divides its audience sharply on content: some love the refreshing departure from generic harems where all characters are magically attracted to everyone, but others feel locked out by the decision to make certain love interests straight or romance-locked to monogamous routes, creating real friction for players seeking group content. The recent Chapter 1 Part 2 release showed growing pains—the developer candidly acknowledged insufficient testing before launch, leading to text-formatting bugs and other issues—but the team has visibly expanded (adding a co-developer for writing and rendering) and committed to more rigorous QA going forward. For players who value character-driven mystery sci-fi and don't require all routes to converge sexually, IRYS is genuinely compelling; for those seeking unrestricted harem flexibility, the game's design choices may frustrate despite strong fundamentals.

Description

IRYS is a crime-driven sci-fi visual novel set in Monet, a city-state born from displacement and political compromise. You play as a corporate employee at Deimos Corporation, a technological powerhouse driving Monet's rapid advancement. On the surface, Deimos represents progress and stability; beneath lies a network of illegal experimentation, psychological manipulation, and government secrecy. As you navigate office politics, corporate pressure, and relationships with coworkers, you uncover unsettling truths—lost memories resurface through dreams, guilt feels manufactured, and your own complicity remains unclear. The game explores themes of power disguised as professionalism, trauma repackaged as growth, and the cost of accepting responsibility for events you cannot remember.
