Intertwined is a passionate, sprawling visual novel with vivid characterization and genuinely affecting writing that improves noticeably across its chapters. Community consensus celebrates its intricate branching paths, emotionally resonant slow-burn storytelling, and thematic depth—players repeatedly call it a "gem" that left them reconsidering their own values. However, the game suffers from persistent technical rough edges: missing asset files, sprite path errors, a mid-story crash bug that blocks progression, and occasional dialogue bugs have been reported across recent versions. More troublingly, a scene early in Act 1 contains dialogue framing a sexual-assault victim's culpability in a way that contradicts the game's otherwise compassionate philosophy—the developer acknowledged this as a misstep and committed to revision.
