Editorial Has potential
Horny Mage Academy is an ambitious single-developer RPG in active reconstruction. The creative vision—a magic-school life sim with combat, relationships, and adult content—has genuine merit and a dedicated audience, but the current build is caught mid-major overhaul: the developer is replacing core combat plugins (outdated since 2021), redesigning all 60+ skills and spells, and fixing systemic bugs across movement, events, and UI. Recent players report frequent soft-locks, black screens, broken quest triggers, NPCs vanishing after saves, broken class selection, teleportation glitches, and animation/image corruption. The developer is transparent about progress—devlogs on Subscribestar document the work—but has not shipped a stable release in months; the last download links are from September 2024, and updates are mostly metadata or emergency hotfixes. For those willing to tolerate a rough early-access state in exchange for a promising game in the making, there is content worth exploring; for others, this is unplayable right now.
