Homebody Hostess

Homebody Hostess is a visual novel set in the nightclub culture of a Taiwanese urban setting. You play as Aki, a 24-year-old hostess and madam at an upscale nightclub who is forced to work there to pay off her family's debt. Despite being the most requested and highest-earning hostess, Aki is actually an introverted homebody who dislikes the nightlife. The game explores her conflicted relationship with her debtor boss, her hidden masochistic tendencies, and the gap between her glamorous public persona and her true self. Gameplay revolves around an engaging card-game system where you build decks, choose effects, and manage Aki's performance to meet sales targets. The game is fully voiced in Mandarin, Japanese, and Taiwanese Hokkien, and is set against the melodramatic backdrop of Taiwanese soap-opera culture. Through increasingly complex scenarios, you witness Aki's struggles and come to understand the often-hidden reality behind the glittering facade of nightclub life.
