Editorial Meh
Forbidden Dungeon is a Darkest Dungeon–inspired roguelike that leans heavily into the lust-curse mechanic as its core gameplay loop. The community appreciates the combat positioning strategy and agrees the Bunny character is essential—perhaps overpowered—for managing lust; without her, the system becomes punishing. However, the game suffers from serious structural problems: pregnancy locks characters out of play with no stated cure, the save system requires external tools, and a recent major rework removed leveling and town exploration in favor of streamlined but lifeless alternatives. The writing is described as generic and occasionally AI-generated-feeling, and sexual content, though promised, remains sparse and disconnected from relationship building. Recent updates have introduced crashes, out-of-memory errors, and softlocks (particularly on loot screens); the Android version has font and UI scaling issues. Community sentiment is split between those who see promise in the core loop and those who view it as an unfinished, unpolished attempt that needs substantial work before it's worth the 2GB download.
