Editorial Has potential
FatesCrossed is a mystery-driven sandbox AVN with genuine narrative ambition: players gradually uncover what happened at the game's confusing opening through breadcrumb-fed quests, and the story's layered intrigue—alongside strong character writing and original music—keeps invested players engaged. However, the game struggles with execution. English proofreading remains its most consistent weakness (acknowledged by the solo developer, now being addressed), making dialogue laborious to read even as plot quality improves. The UI, while visually polished, is counterintuitive in places (tiny hitboxes on mobile, redundant app purchases, navigation inconsistency). Technical bugs are scattered but rarely game-breaking, though the newest build shows the Palmira/Liza SMS loop still unresolved. For those patient enough to push past the rough early hours and willing to tolerate imperfect English, there's a compelling mystery here. The game rewards careful play and asks players to theorize, which appeals to a specific audience—but it absolutely does not reward casual dipping or fast reading.
