Editorial Has potential
Cabin Corpse is an ambitious horror-mystery visual novel that wears its adult content lightly—the real draw is the slow-burn suspense and interconnected storytelling. Players wake amnesiac in a remote cabin surrounded by characters with secrets, and must navigate a 24-hour day/night cycle, build relationships, and uncover what happened. The sandbox structure and time system genuinely make the world feel alive; NPCs move and events trigger based on when you visit them, which is rare and engaging for the genre. Writing and atmosphere are consistently strong, and the dev's own soundtrack elevates every scene. However, the game prioritizes mystery over erotica—sex scenes are sparse and largely static—so those seeking adult content will be disappointed. More problematically, the build has serious quality-of-life gaps: no mid-scene saves (only between story beats), no rollback, mandatory quick-time events some find frustrating, and an older custom engine that feels clunky. Early renders are noticeably lower-fidelity than later ones, and a few reports of softlock bugs exist. The game is playable and content-complete for Chapter 2, but these friction points will frustrate players used to modern VN conveniences. For those willing to forgive the rough edges in service of a genuinely creepy, mystery-driven story with real replay value, it's worth the journey. For those seeking polish and frequent payoff, wait for further updates.
