Editorial Has potential
Anthems of the Nightside blends horror atmosphere with adult content in a way the community finds genuinely rare and compelling. Players praise the character design—especially the femboy Karna—and appreciate the game's willingness to pair eerie, unsettling aesthetics with sexual content. The stoner-doom soundtrack and creature design land well for those seeking "scaroused" horror-erotica. However, the build is rough: the narrative branches heavily on easily-missed, unintuitive choices (feeding fires, mask-wearing), leading to frequent unavoidable deaths and confusion—the developer even admits the code became "overly convoluted." Typos are numerous, music volume spikes jarring, and sex audio is absent entirely. A walkthrough is now bundled, which helps, but the experience remains needlessly opaque. Recent delays due to real-life hardship are understandable, but the current state is unpolished and demands patience.
