Editorial Don't bother
What We Never Said is an abandoned early-stage game that shows narrative ambition but collapses under its own disorganization. The core story—estranged siblings reuniting after years apart, a dying father, a volatile ex—has potential, but the execution is a chaotic wreck. Reviewers consistently report that scenes jump without transition, the timeline contradicts itself (who left home?), character appearances change between scenes, the protagonist is a passive doormat, and critical plot points (the reason for the separation, the mother's sudden acceptance) lack any coherent explanation. The choice/stat system appears non-functional, and the mother's youthful appearance breaks immersion for some. Beyond writing, the build itself is unstable: volume sliders don't work, the fullscreen option is missing from menus, and audio mixing is broken. Most damaging: the developer abandoned the project across all platforms in May, offering no updates or communication since. This is a salvageable skeleton with decent art assets, but without a rewrite, editor, and active development, it remains incoherent.
