Editorial Meh
Velaris University is an early-stage dating-sim sandbox with three love interests and a foundation of interesting mechanics—relationship grinding, affection/desire stats, NTR choice-branching—but it remains severely unfinished and unfocused. The core loop (grind affection, trigger weekend story events, make NTR-related choices) shows promise, but execution is held back by repetitive dialogue with no skip option, limited event variety, inconsistent UI (moving buttons, stacked affection displays), grammar issues, and underdeveloped systems: stats don't visibly impact gameplay, the economy is thin, and random events feel disconnected from progression. The visuals divide opinion sharply—some find the character models attractive despite their identical base structure and doll-like appearance, others see lazy AI-generated art with recycled faces and poor proportions. The developer has acknowledged feedback and is actively updating, but the game needs decisive direction (slow-burn romance vs. sandbox freedom), much tighter writing, and genuine mechanical depth before it becomes compelling. Right now it feels like grinding for scraps between placeholder content.
