Editorial Has potential
Guitar Crush is a visual novel/dating sim with a charming art style and solid foundational design that shows real promise. Players appreciate the cute character interactions, particularly the Bocchi-inspired cast and the oblivious Ryo scenes, and the game demonstrates thoughtful scene design with meaningful choice branches. However, the current build suffers from visible technical problems: text rendering on mobile (APK) is broken in several UI elements, character location tracking is unreliable (the tracker points to empty locations), and there are reproducible quest bugs (items appearing twice, dialogue sequences triggering out of order). The game also feels incomplete — one character (Kita) is listed as unimplemented, and the gallery system lacks a "show all" option or unlock helper, making it tedious to verify scene completion. Community feedback is split between enthusiastic early adopters and frustrated players hit by bugs or waiting for promised updates; recent comments suggest development may have stalled. The creative work itself is worth playing for its audience, but the build needs urgent technical polish and completion before it can deliver that promise.
