Editorial Meh
Valrianter is an Eroico-inspired platformer with sex animations that shows real creative potential in its sprite work and character design, but is severely hampered by fundamental gameplay problems that make it frustrating to play. Multiple reviewers praise the animation quality and enemy variety (particularly the bear, bird, and cow designs), and the developer clearly has ambition—but the execution falls apart: hitboxes are misaligned, controls feel unresponsive, enemy spawning is poor, there's no knockback on hit, and aerial attacks are nearly impossible to land without a dedicated power-up system. The game is also clearly incomplete (content stops abruptly after the purple crystal with no clear ending), and some players hit game-breaking bugs like enemies glitching through floors. For a solo dev's first game, the intent is admirable, but the current build needs serious work on core mechanics before the good art direction can shine through.
