Editorial Has potential
To the Demon Queen is an early-access RPG with strong art direction and an appealing cast of monster girls, anchored by a novel "mob protagonist" framing that sets it apart from typical power fantasy designs. The core gameplay loop—exploring a nonlinear world, managing time, and pursuing multiple routes—shows real ambition, and players appreciate the variety of character interactions and the open-ended branching structure. However, the build is rough: save corruption between versions, sprite-positioning bugs, sequence-breaking interactions (NPCs disappearing mid-event), time-tracking overflow, and text-based UI glitches (the save button opening the wrong menu) are frequent enough to frustrate progression. The writing also draws criticism for grammar and punctuation errors, and content is sparse—scenes are short and some branches feel incomplete. The game is transparent about being very early in development, and the developer is actively fixing issues, but potential players should expect to encounter bugs and unfinished sections. Worthwhile for those who enjoy the aesthetic and don't mind roughness; others should wait for a more stable build.
