Editorial Meh
Thirsty Pathogen is a 3DCG-rendered RPGM adventure with a post-apocalyptic premise and family-focused routes still in early development. The core concept—a pathogen driving compulsive behavior—shows promise, and players appreciate the character art and the developer's commitment despite severe personal hardship. However, the build suffers from real technical friction: the flashlight mechanic causes significant framerate drops, save-slot display is broken (duplicating character images), a crucial puzzle lacks in-game hints forcing external research, and text-on-grey readability is poor. These aren't minor polish issues; they're barriers to play. Story content is sparse (no full sex scenes yet, only voyeurism), and the sandbox + RPGM hybrid approach divides opinion. The developer is transparent about slow progress due to life circumstances and active on SubscribeStar, but the current version feels genuinely unfinished despite earnest effort.
