Editorial Has potential
Forgotten Cove is a survival-romance visual novel with an expanding island setting and character-driven storylines. Recent updates show genuine creative ambition: the developers have rebuilt early-game pacing into proper story scenes, added substantial new content (1,000+ renders in the latest patch), and are thoughtfully pacing intimate scenes to build narrative weight rather than rushing gratification. Character arcs like Jade's corruption and the volleyball subplot show promise. However, the build is notably unstable: the save system is fundamentally broken across updates, with players unable to transfer saves and forced to restart repeatedly; Discord integration crashes persist; and the current version demands face ID and phone verification to access support, which has driven away paying subscribers. The community is divided—some appreciate the story focus and development roadmap, while others are exhausted by restart cycles and resent the access barriers. If you can tolerate frequent restarts and are drawn to slow-burn narrative design, the creative direction may reward patience; but the current technical state makes this a frustrating experience.
