Editorial Meh
The Legend of the Sword is a very early-stage text-based adult RPG that draws loose comparisons to browser classics like BattleQuest. The creative concept — a combat-and-exploration loop with dungeon systems and RPG progression — has genuine appeal to a niche audience, and a handful of players are willing to watch it develop. That said, almost every substantive piece of feedback points to the same conclusion: there is far too little content here to justify attention yet, let alone a subscription. Navigation is clunky and repetitive (players report exhausting amounts of back-button use), dialogue is minimal, and the AI-generated art is inconsistent and unconvincing. On the technical side, the build is in rough shape even for a 0.1 release: broken image links, multiple typos in the first few lines of text, and a UI that lacks basic elements like a scroll bar. The most detailed reviewer cheated the game's variables just to make progress bearable. Community sentiment is almost uniformly "wait and see," and several reviewers are pointed about the early Patreon push feeling premature. There is a spark of an idea here, but virtually nothing is playable in a satisfying way right now.
