Editorial Meh
The Awakening has built a loyal following on the strength of its visuals, animations, and a cast of characters — particularly the fairy and the MC's sister — that players genuinely enjoy. The writing leans into genre clichés with a self-aware, lightly comedic touch that some find charming, and the overall atmosphere has clearly left an impression on many players who keep coming back. That said, the game's creative execution has real structural problems: story continuity breaks down noticeably where older content meets the remade sections, character behavior can shift without convincing buildup, and several promising threads (the fairy's powers, the twin-sisters dynamic, the mutually-beneficial arrangement with Linda) get quietly dropped or simplified over time. The project is still in active development, and that shows. Updates are slow, the latest release arrived without its background music (promised in a follow-up patch), a mid-game model change is jarring enough that multiple players comment on it, and the overall sandbox design draws criticism for funneling players into either/or choices that undercut the harem premise. For those with patience for a work-in-progress, there is real charm here; those hoping for a polished, coherent experience may want to wait for a more complete state.
