The protagonist feels like a real person with history and emotional baggage, and the central relationship with the mysterious Ava builds atmosphere and introspection in a way that stands out from the genre's usual wish-fulfillment fare. The single adult scene, when it arrives, is well-regarded. The core criticism is that choices are largely cosmetic — all paths converge on the same ending — and that ending itself puzzles many players, feeling like a cliffhanger designed for a sequel that never came. The elephant in the room is abandonment: released in mid-2023 and untouched since, with no Act Two anywhere in sight, the game is effectively a polished demo frozen in time.
