Taishou Mebiusline

In late Taishou-era Japan (1923), the protagonist Kyouichirou leaves his countryside village to attend Imperial University, only to become embroiled in a dangerous conflict between the Imperial Army and the mysterious Gohongatana Clan. Possessing the rare ability to see and communicate with spirits of the dead—a power that manifested after a childhood illness—he is forcibly recruited by the military to serve as part of their "Shirei" (death soldiers) program, a weapon designed to counter foreign threats. As Kyouichirou is drawn into the machinations of militarists and those who oppose them, he must navigate conflicting loyalties to country, emperor, and his fellow man while uncovering a conspiracy that could reshape the empire's future. The story unfolds through encounters with a diverse cast of supernatural-gifted individuals: Misaki, a mysterious young man with similar powers who warns him away; Shigure, a member of the Five-Blade organization now hunted by the military; the ruthless militarist Iori orchestrating the death-soldier project; and Kaikai, a loyal military officer caught between duty and conscience. Each character harbors secrets and conflicting agendas that pull Kyouichirou deeper into political intrigue and supernatural conflict. The narrative explores themes of personal agency, national identity, and moral compromise in an era of imperial militarism.
