Editorial Has potential
Sunrise City is a story-driven turn-based RPG with character-focused narrative and puzzle elements that has earned genuine affection from players who've engaged with it. The art, writing, and blend of combat mechanics with detective work resonate strongly—fans specifically praise the story pacing and the satisfaction of solving puzzles embedded in the plot. However, the game suffers from real technical friction: save-file creation confusion, resolution cutoff issues, progression-blocking bugs that force restart-and-restart cycles, and vague quest markers leave players stuck despite the community and dev attempting to help. The current build is unfinished and mid-development (prologue 7 incomplete, features like energy skills still incoming), with a split release model (free demo several versions behind a Patreon build) that muddles accessibility. For those willing to tolerate setup friction and incomplete content, the creative core is solid; for others, the rough edges and missing polish will frustrate.
