Editorial Has potential
Sophie's Diary is a character-driven narrative game with a protagonist that players find believable and well-realized. The writing and portrayal of the main character draw praise, and the core creative vision is solid enough to hold interest. However, the game is currently in rough shape: a recent major update broke save importing across browsers, scattered quest progression (players regularly get stuck unable to advance specific routes with no clear guidance on what triggers scenes), video assets fail to load (wrong file extensions in code), and the grinding loop lacks sufficient variation or feedback to sustain engagement. Multiple reviewers report progress became untrackable after the latest patch, and small hidden decision-branches can lock players out of entire storylines without warning. The effort is evident, but the build needs substantial stabilization before most players will reach the content.
