Editorial Don't bother
Smutstone is a gacha-style adult card-battler whose main selling point is its collection of illustrated sexy characters — cards that visually upgrade as you level them up. On that narrow front, some players find it a pleasant way to kill time, enjoying the art and the casual card-collecting loop. The gameplay itself, however, is almost entirely automated: cards are matched and battles play out on their own, leaving the player with little strategic input beyond deck-building and upgrading. The dominant criticism — shared by the vast majority of reviewers across languages — is an aggressive pay-to-win economy that makes meaningful free-to-play progress feel impossible. Energy caps, heavily gated event rewards, tournament leaderboards allegedly stuffed with bots, and upgrade costs described as prohibitive create a wall that many veterans say has only grown steeper over time. Bugs, unresponsive support, and balance changes that reset progress add further frustration. The positive reviews present are formulaic and generic to a degree that several players explicitly flag as bot-generated; the genuine enthusiast voices are few. For players unwilling to spend significantly, this is a hard sell.
