Editorial Has potential
Siren Bay is a fishing-themed visual novel with romance and mystery elements across seven characters. The game has strong foundational appeal for players who enjoy slice-of-life storytelling and fishing mechanics, but it is currently hampered by significant progression bugs—most critically, the first quest with Marie fails to complete for many players, leaving them unable to advance or earn money. Developers have released patches attempting to fix these issues and have been responsive to reports, though the problems persist for a substantial portion of the playerbase. The build also suffers from translation/localization problems (English and French text mixing), unfinished UI polish, and some players find the mandatory early-game minigames tedious; however, those who push through report the game opens up into free-roam gameplay worth exploring. Community sentiment is divided: some see potential and patience-test this as work-in-progress, while others have abandoned it pending more stable updates. The art style has drawn criticism for apparent AI usage, and the opening difficulty curve is steep enough that hand-holding tutorials are recommended but missing.
