However, the build is visibly broken: save/load corrupts core features (the "black market" cam system becomes uninteractable), the data folder fails to unpack correctly on Windows, tutorial re-triggers on load, and currency rounding causes false "insufficient funds" blocks. The Mac release is corrupt (518 bytes). Recent patches have improved things, but multiple reviewers report persistent save-state bugs that make progression unreliable. If you're drawn to the premise, the itch.io 0.5 version is more stable than the version hosted here, but expect to restart the game rather than rely on saves.

Description

Silk and Shadows is a fashion boutique management sim with narrative elements. You run a clothing store, serving customers, managing fitting rooms, and building your reputation through sales and upgrades. The core loop involves helping clients find outfits, balancing multiple shoppers at once, and investing earnings into shop improvements. What sets it apart is the relationship system: returning customers like Sophie, Astrid, and June each have their own branching storylines that deepen across multiple visits, unlocking unique scenes and evolving dialogue as you progress their personal arcs. Blends management mechanics with character-driven narrative and romance.
