Editorial Meh
Shyman is an early-alpha sandbox VN with AI-generated visuals and voice that show genuine promise—the character models are attractive and the animations run smoothly—but the current build is rough around the edges and the creative direction remains unfocused. The MC's extreme submissiveness and the slow, repetitive opening (heavy on chores and mockery, light on payoff) frustrate players, though the dev acknowledges this and plans a major rework. More divisive is a deliberate imaginative NTR scene in the prologue: it's framed as the MC's insecurity fantasy rather than planned story content, and the dev has clarified repeatedly that no actual NTR will occur, but this scene alone has deterred multiple players—a warning worth knowing upfront. Code issues (broken rollback, slow videos, UI hitches, inconsistent clickboxes) are real but being addressed; the dev is engaged and actively rewriting. If you trust early-stage promise and can tolerate placeholder pacing, the bones are there; if you need a polished, feature-complete experience now, wait for beta.
