Description
A tactical wargame simulating the Battle of Shizugatake (1583), a pivotal conflict in Japan's Sengoku period. Players command either the Shibata clan (attempting to break through enemy positions before Toyotomi Hideyoshi's arrival from Ogaki) or the Toyotomi forces (defending until reinforcements arrive). The game features historical commanders whose loyalty fluctuates based on territorial gains and losses—holding fortifications maintains morale, while losing them risks defection to the enemy side. Combat unfolds across a 20×15 hex map over 12 turns, typically lasting about 30 minutes, with 45 total units including the legendary Seven Spears of Shizugatake. Control of 17 fortified positions (39 points total) decides the outcome, with the Shibata side needing 28 points to achieve victory.
