Shiny Cutey Excel Chiffon is a 2D side-scrolling action game featuring two playable heroines (one controllable, one AI-assisted in single-player) across multiple stages, with defeat/H-scenes unlockable through a gallery system. The community feedback here is almost entirely technical in nature, leaving little to say about the creative work itself beyond the basic premise: it's a heroine-peril beat-'em-up in the tradition of the genre, apparently a sequel to a prior title, and the gallery system requires spending in-game achievement points to unlock content for regular enemies — a mechanic some found unintuitive. On the build side, the picture is messier. The game has received a substantial series of official patches (v1.03 through v1.08 fixing 39 issues), but players report that the distributed download does not always include the latest hotfixes, leading to a stage-2 bug and a stage-3 boss crash for those who skip the manual patching step. Additional reports mention a persistent script-exception error at the abandoned factory stage (fixed for some by re-downloading the GitHub patch), broken behavior for the blue character during grab states in the train fight, and at least one scene in the defeat gallery that is unpassable without skipping. The game appears to require deliberate patching effort to run cleanly, which is worth knowing before you start.
